This series of photos is from a recent drainage system installation. In this case, the homeowner was having trouble with wet spots at the rear and right side of the property, and also along the fence.
An NDS EZflow preconstructed french drain system was added around the rear and right side of the property and along the fence line to the right side. The yard had a slight incline to the rear lot line so it was necessary to install a sump pump. A sump pump is a pump used to remove water that has accumulated in a water collecting sump basin, and provides the lowest point for the french drain to exit out to.
The sump pump has a float switch attached so as the drain discharges water into the sump the float switch will rise. At a pre determined angle the float will close and allow the pump to operate. The pump has a discharge pipe connected to it which is installed between the pump and the rear lot line. When the pump operates the water will be forced through the discharge pipe and exit at the rear lot line away from the property.
The property is no longer damp inside or around the foundation and the fence line is also dry. The french drain around the property does not allow water to pool nearby and evacuates the water away. The final result is another happy customer with a solved drainage situation.
